What CD80 Detergent does
CD80 is a cleaning solution used on the analyzer’s scheduled maintenance cycle, at a lower frequency than routine probe cleansing but with a heavier job to do. Where the routine cleanser keeps the probe and immediate flow path clear during ordinary use, this addresses the accumulation that builds up in the wider fluidics over a longer period. Because its cycle comes round infrequently, it is easy for a laboratory to fall behind on it without noticing, and the consequences appear as unexplained background counts and fluidics faults months later rather than as an immediate failure. It is used alongside the routine cleanser, not instead of it.
How Philippine laboratories run it
Among the highest-volume items in Framar’s delivery record, which reflects the number of analyzers in service across the country rather than heavy per-instrument consumption. The pattern worth flagging to any laboratory is that this is the maintenance consumable most likely to be sitting unopened in a stockroom while the cycle it belongs to has quietly lapsed: ordering it and running it are two different things. Framar’s preventive maintenance visits check the maintenance log rather than the shelf for exactly that reason, and the supply schedule is planned around the cycle frequency rather than around a reorder point.
Analyzers it runs on
Also supplied for installed BC-3000, BC-5000, BC-5800 units still in service. Tell us the model and we will confirm what it takes.
Calibrator, controls and companion tests
Delivered with the other consumables the same analyzer gets through, on the same schedule as CD80 Detergent.
Storage and handling
Store sealed and upright, out of direct sunlight and within the labelled temperature range. This is a concentrated cleaning solution, so handle it according to the safety guidance on the container.
Buying CD80 Detergent in the Philippines
CD80 Detergent is supplied for the BC-6000, BC-5390, BC-760 and BC-780, BC-5120 and BC-30. We deliver it with Probe Cleanser, because a run held up waiting on a separate order costs the same shift a stock-out does. Delivery is scheduled against how fast your bench actually gets through it, which for a consumable is set by workload rather than by a calendar. How we plan hematology supply.
Questions about CD80 Detergent
Do we need CD80 if we are already running probe cleanser?
Yes, they belong to different maintenance cycles. Probe cleanser is the routine wash that keeps the probe and immediate flow path clear during ordinary use. CD80 is the heavier, less frequent clean that addresses accumulation in the wider fluidics. Running one does not cover the other, and the analyzer’s maintenance schedule specifies both.
How do we know if the deep-clean cycle has been missed?
Usually you do not, until something else goes wrong, which is the difficulty with it. Because the cycle is infrequent, a lapse does not produce an immediate failure; it shows up months later as unexplained background counts or fluidics faults. Checking the maintenance log rather than the stock level is the only reliable way to know, which is what our engineers do on a preventive maintenance visit.
