What BC-5000 series reagent set does

A five-part differential analyzer separates neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils, and the chemistry that makes that possible sits in the lyse rather than in the optics alone. Where a three-part lyse simply removes red cells, a five-part set uses more than one lysing reagent, each affecting the white cell populations differently so the analyzer can distinguish them by how they scatter light and by their impedance signature. That is why these sets contain more than one lyse and why the fluids are not interchangeable with a three-part set. The diluent remains the highest-volume item, and the rinse keeps the flow path clear between samples.

How Philippine laboratories run it

Five-part analyzers are the standard in Philippine hospital laboratories of any size, so this is the highest-volume hematology reagent set Framar supplies and the one where a delivery schedule earns its keep. Consumption tracks the monthly CBC count closely and is therefore forecastable, which makes standing deliveries straightforward to plan. The practical failure mode is not running out of everything at once but running out of one lyse while the other is still in stock, which stops the differential without stopping the count, so the set should be ordered and tracked as a set.

Storage and handling

Store containers upright and sealed until placed on the analyzer, out of direct sunlight, within the labelled temperature range. The multiple lysing reagents in a five-part set do not necessarily share identical storage conditions, so check each container rather than assuming. The labelled figures govern.

Buying BC-5000 series reagent set in the Philippines

BC-5000 series reagent set is supplied for the BC-5390 and BC-5120. We deliver it with BC-5D Control and Probe Cleanser, because a run held up waiting on a separate order costs the same shift a stock-out does. Delivery is scheduled against how fast your bench actually gets through it, which for a consumable is set by workload rather than by a calendar. How we plan hematology supply.

Questions about BC-5000 series reagent set

Why does a five-part analyzer need more than one lysing reagent?

Because separating five white cell populations depends on treating them differently, not just on counting them. The lysing reagents affect the populations to different degrees, so the analyzer can distinguish them by how they scatter light and by their impedance signature. A three-part lyse only needs to remove red cells, which is why the sets are not interchangeable.

We have an older BC-5800 still in service. Can you supply it?

Tell us the model and we will confirm what it takes. Older five-part instruments remain in service across the country and several are still supported by their reagent line, but the set is specified per analyzer family and we would rather check against the documentation than assume from the model number. Send us the instrument details and we will come back to you.
