What AMH measures
Anti-Mullerian hormone is produced by small developing follicles in the ovary, and its concentration reflects the size of that pool. Unlike FSH and estradiol it does not vary substantially across the menstrual cycle, which is its defining practical advantage: the sample can be taken on any day, and no collection-day instruction is needed. It is used in the assessment of ovarian reserve, in planning and predicting response to assisted reproduction, and in the assessment of certain ovarian conditions. It describes the quantity of the remaining follicular pool rather than the likelihood of conception, and interpretation belongs to the requesting clinician.
How Philippine laboratories run it
AMH is requested primarily by fertility services, and increasingly by patients themselves in the context of family planning, which is a growing source of demand in Philippine private laboratories. Its cycle independence removes the scheduling problem that FSH and estradiol create for the collection area, so it is an easier test to offer than either. Volume remains modest, and because it is a lower-turnover assay the expiry date deserves more attention than for the high-volume immunoassays: smaller and more frequent deliveries generally serve better than bulk.

Calibrator, controls and companion tests
Delivered with the rest of the fertility panel, on the same schedule as AMH.
Storage and handling
Refrigerated, upright, and not frozen.
Buying AMH in the Philippines
AMH is supplied for the CL-2600i and CL-900i. We deliver it with FSH and Estradiol, because a run held up waiting on a separate order costs the same shift a stock-out does. Delivery is scheduled against your monthly AMH count, so the bench is not rationing tests in the last week of the month. How we plan clia immunoassay supply.
Questions about AMH
Does AMH have to be taken on a particular day of the cycle?
No, and that is its main practical advantage over FSH and estradiol. AMH does not vary substantially across the menstrual cycle, so the sample can be collected on any day. That removes the scheduling problem that other fertility hormones create for the collection area and makes it a considerably easier test to offer.
